Preparing for EES
- [ ] Log into AirMeet early and explore the platform! AirMeet is where all EES events take place. Instructions to generate your unique link were sent by email with the subject line “Your EES Login”. You can also find instructions pinned to the #EES2024 Slack channel
- [ ] In Airmeet, review the list of companies coming to EES 2024: You can bookmark events to your calendar by clicking each one.
- [ ] Review our EES Attendee Guide!
- [ ] Research the companies you are interested in connecting with: Review company websites, search for their content on LinkedIn, and search online for recent news articles and other relevant information. This will help you think of questions to ask during sessions, and make conversation if you visit a company booth to chat to recruiters.
- [ ] Update your LinkedIn profile: **Ensure your LinkedIn is up-to-date so that anyone you connect with during or after EES can see a snapshot of your skills, experience, and that you are a CodePath community member!
- [ ] Update your Resume: Taking part in live sessions will give you the opportunity to join the EES Resume Book 2024. Use our resources to make sure your resume is up to date or have our AI career coach connect you with additional resume feedback!
- [ ] Prepare your elevator pitch: **Using our elevator pitch worksheet, build a brief introduction that you can use in networking scenarios and that you can work into your About section on LinkedIn.
- [ ] **Plan your schedule! ****As soon as the schedule for EES is shared, plan which sessions you want to attend and add them to your Google calendar or planner. The Airmeet platform allows you to bookmark sessions and add calendar reminders. Be sure to schedule time for following up with connections after each day wraps.
- [ ] **Getting ‘virtual conference’ camera-ready! ****To fully participate in EES, you must be on camera. Ensure you are in a distraction-free environment and dress as you would for a real video-based interview or networking event. Check out our IRL Professional Attire guidelines: no suits or blazers needed, but we do recommend aiming for business casual.
- [ ] Share about EES on social media (especially LinkedIn!) prior to the event! Here is the link to our social media toolkit to make this easy!
During EES
- [ ] Test your technology: Set aside time at the beginning of each day, especially the first day, to navigate the Airmeet platform and test your settings.
- [ ] Find a neutral and quiet space: **Try to limit potential distractions for yourself during the event. Plan where you will be sitting during the event ahead of time—consider lighting and background.
- [ ] Be on time: Arrive on time to all sessions. While we will be recording sessions, don’t miss your opportunity to engage with presenters and peers. Attending live will also allow you to add your resume to the EES Resume Book, plus be in with a chance to win EES Swag!
- [ ] Practice active listening: Stay engaged in the chat during the session, taking notes where applicable! This will help you ask thoughtful questions later on. Whenever you are on camera, practice eye contact with the camera.
- [ ] Visit the lounge area: The Lounge is where you can chat with anyone attending the Summit. Feel free to say hi to event speakers and the CodePath team! You can also join dedicated “tables” on Leetcode, interview tips, job searching advice, or to meet people based in your area.
- [ ] Ask good questions: Using Best Questions to Ask: Hiring Events, Networking, & Info Sessions and your own research, come up with thoughtful questions when the opportunity presents itself.
