Share that you will be attending NSBE on your LinkedIn and/or professional Twitter (with the hashtag #NSBE49. You can also use this hashtag on other social media sites to see other employers and organizations who are attending the event!

Submit a resume to the NSBE Career CenterĀ Job Seekers page. This will allow companies to see your resume in advance and potentially reach out to schedule an onsite interview in advance. Use the checklist in our Resumes section of the Career Kit if you need to update yours.
Sign up forĀ Brilliant Black MindsĀ - they'll be onsite on Thursday and Friday during the Career Fair doing headshots for students.
Practicing your elevator pitch prior to events. You will probably be talking to people a lot and that will help you be more confidentā¦.if you want to workshop your elevator pitch, we have a resource under ā£ that can help you draft one!
Attend as many events as possible! Not just workshops and professional events, but entertainment events too. Itās a great way to meet people and network in a more casual setting.
- Before events and sessions, try to do some preliminary research on the company or people you will be meeting. It will help you come up with questions to ask.
- During events, take breaks to recharge šĀ in between sessions. Networking takes a lot of energy. Snacks and breaks are important!
- After every event you attend, send a personalized LinkedIn request (within 48 hours) to the people you connected with reminding them how you met. Templates below:
